US tariffs did not harm Embraer, although they are a "serious problem"

The company avoided a major threat last week when U.S. President Donald Trump exempted its planes from a 50% tariff imposed on imports from Brazil to the U.S. However, it still faces a 10% tariff first imposed in April. The Brazilian planemaker said, " Such a tariff is harmful but manageable," Reuters reported.
In its second-quarter earnings report, Embraer said it favors a "rapid return to zero tariffs for all aerospace industries" and reiterated its ties to the United States, including local jobs and investment.
Embraer, whose E175 single-aisle plane is the workhorse of U.S. regional aviation, signaled last month that a 50 percent tariff imposed on its most important market could result in order cancellations, delayed deliveries and a revenue hit , similar to what has happened during the pandemic, Reuters reported.
Embraer confirmed it expects to deliver 77 to 85 commercial aircraft and 145 to 155 business jets this year . Full-year net revenue is forecast to be between $7 billion and $7.5 billion, Reuters reported.
The company reported an adjusted net loss of $4.7 million in the second quarter, compared with a profit of $80.4 million a year earlier, impacted by the net change in deferred income taxes and social security contributions.
Adjusted EBITDA was $245.5 million, compared with $190.4 million a year earlier . Net revenue was $1.82 billion, an increase of 22% year over year.
